Transportation Improvement Program

PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD OPEN THROUGH JULY 29, 2020:

Each year Dixie MPO seeks public input on actions taken on the Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP). In January 2020, the MPO identified $2.3 million in funds that could be programmed to projects in STIP Year 2024. Two separate applications sought these funds:

MPO officials voted to program the STIP Year 2024 funds as follows:

  1. $2.1 million to construct the “East Project” to extend Washington City’s 3650 South to the Southern Parkway. Washington City agreed to cover the “local match” requirements plus any additional costs of the project. A concept report and map are available in the links above.
  2. An additional $236,000 was programmed to increase the federal funding amount for the Old Highway 91 project. Ivins City agreed to cover the “local match” requirements plus any additional costs of the project. The concept report and map are available in a link noted above.

The MPO also agreed to program all eligible Federal Transit Authority funds to transit services within Washington County, including the current transit lines in St. George and Ivins, along with an anticipated transit lines between St. George and Springdale. The Transit TIP is available HERE.

A copy of the draft July 2021 TIP document may be reviewed HERE or at the Five County Association of Governments office between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. M-F until August 29, 2020 (1070 W. 1600 S.; Bldg. B; St. George, Utah).

The review and comment period on the proposed documents closes on July 29, 2020. Another comment period will open in July 2021.
