Transportation Improvement Program

Each year Dixie MPO seeks public input on actions taken on the Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP). In January 2019, the MPO identified $2.1 million in funds that could be programmed to projects in STIP Year 2023. Three separate applications sought these funds:

MPO officials voted to program the STIP Year 2023 funds as follows:

  1. $2.1 million to construct the “Center Project” to connect St. George’s 1450 South to Washington City’s 3650 South near the 3000 East block in St. George. St. George City and Washington City agreed to share the cost of the local match requirements plus any additional costs of the project. A concept report and map are available in the links above.
  2. As recommended by the Federal Highway Administration, 12 locally funded projects were also added to the TIP as highlighted in Yellow HERE. Concept reports for each of these projects are available at the various sponsoring agencies.

Projects previously programmed for funding are noted below:

The MPO also agreed to program all eligible Federal Transit Authority funds to transit services within Washington County, including the current transit lines in St. George and Ivins, along with an anticipated transit lines between St. George and Springdale.
