Transportation Improvement Program

PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD

THROUGH JULY 31, 2023:

Dixie MPO regularly seeks public comment on proposed actions on the Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP).  Submit all comments to TIPcomments@fivecounty.utah.gov. In January 2023, the MPO identified $2.2 million in funds that would be programmed to projects in STIP Years 2024 through 2027.  This process will repeat beginning in December 2023.  Six separate projects requested funds in 2023.

Pedestrian Trail Gap Fill Project in Ivins 

The MPO programmed funding in the 2023 TIP as follows:

$235,000 (STIP Year 2027) to the Purgatory to Pecan Valley Connector NEPA Sudy (local math by Hurricane City). 

$1 million (STIP year 2027) to the Western Corridor (Old 91 to Snow Canyon Parkway) project  (local math by Ivins and Santa Clara). 

$861,000 (STIP year 2027) to the 3650 South (Camino Real to SR-7 with Interchange ) (PIN #18441) 

In a previous action the MPO amended its 2022 TIP as follows:

Programmed FY 2022/FY2023 CRP funds as follows:

  1. $40,000 to the MPO Regional Trail Standards project  (to be obligated by August 2023) (local match by St. George City)
  2. $80,000 to the Trail Counters Project (to be obligated by August 2023) ( local math by St. George. City)
  3. $400,000 to the Ivins Trail Network Gap Fill project ($140,000 of which to be obligated by August 2023) (local match by Ivins City)
  4. Re-program $2.1 million of TIP  Year 2023 federal funds from the 1450 S.  (SG) to 3650 S. (W) Realignment project  (PIN 17463) to the George Washington  Boulevard (west) project  (local match St. George City)
  5. Programming $225,000 of FY 2023 Transportation Alternative Program (TAP) funds to the Ivins Trail Network Gap Fill project.

The MPO will also program all eligible Federal Transit Authority funds to transit services within Washington County, including the current transit lines in St. George, Ivins, Washington City , along with an anticipated transit line between St. George and Springdale. A copy of the draft July 2023 Dixie MPO TIP document may be reviewed HERE or at the Five County Association of Governments office between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5 p.m. M-F until July 30th, 2023 (1070 W. 1600 S.; Bldg. B; St. George, Utah). The review and comment period on the next round of funding will open in July 2023.   UDOT TIP for Washington County may be reviewed HERE.
