Dixie TIP

Transportation Improvement Program
Notice is hereby given that the Dixie Metropolitan Planning Organization (DMPO) and the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) are seeking public review and comment on their respective proposed 2018 to 2022 Transportation Improvement Programs (TIPs) and the 2018 to 2022 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). Each year Dixie MPO seeks public input on the Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP) – a list of projects approved to receive MPO funding over the next four years. This year, MPO officials chose to add two new projects to the 2018-2022 TIP and to increase funding on another project:

  1. Merrill Road Extension – MPO officials increased the programmed funds for this project from $1,072,616 to $2,311,331. Washington City plans to seek additional funds for the project from other sources. A concept report is available at Merrill Road and a Map of the proposal is available at  Map of Merrill Road.
  2. Old Highway 91 from 200 East, Ivins to the Shivwits Reservation – MPO officials programmed $2,000,000 of federal funds, together with $145,232 of local match funds to this project. A concept report with a map is available at Old Highway 91 .
  3. Purgatory Road (Corridor Preservation) – MPO officials programmed $300,000 of Washington County Council of Governments funds for corridor preservation to the eventual construction of Purgatory Road. A Draft Environmental Assessment on this project is available at Purgatory Road .

Projects previously programmed for funding are noted below:

The TIP is a six-year program of highway, transit, and other transportation projects for Washington County. The STIP is a six-year program of statewide projects.
